Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Flexistone composed of?
- Flexistone is composed mainly of special unsaturated resin, MMA and natural mineral i.e. aluminium hydrate instead of plastics or synthetic marble. It is a high-grade solid surface material made with polymer composite technology.
- Will there be colour differences between the top and other areas when Flexistone is refitted?
- A sheet of Flexistone is in the same color and of the same material, and this is why Flexistone is seamless in joints, uniform as a whole, easy to refit and durable in use.
- What is the best way for daily care for Flexistone?
- It can be cleaned with fine gauze with soap and water. The commonly used glass cleaners are the best agent to keep Flexistone surface clean and shiny. Please refer to maintenance section for further information.
- Is it true that some colours are more durable than others?
- No, it isn’t true, although light colors are not that bright and need less maintenance. Flexistone of any colour provides you with years of reliable service.
- It is easy to clean?
- The better cleaner you use, the more lustrous Flexistone becomes. If you want it bright and clean, the best way is to use a good cleaner, for example a white polisher with water, to clean it along with other parts of the top, and then wipe it dry with a soft rag.
- Can I put a sink into the top already installed?
- Absolutely, but measurements need to be taken to make sure they match each other. Please consult the Flexi fabricator.
- Do I need to select the sink and the tap before the top is installed?
- We would recommend that you select them before the fabricator processes the top although there are some universal models or sizes.
- My requirements are different to those on the Flexistone website andbrochures. Are there any other alternatives?
- Sure. The ideas we show are the ones most commonly adopted by the majority of clients. We can certainly use your ideas.
- Can I place raw vegetables and raw meat on Flexistone when I cook?
- Sure. Flexistone is free of very small crevices, so there is nowhere for the bacteria or pathogens to hide. It is NSF certified and allowed for direct contact with food. However, we would still recommend you clean it before use and do not put other food where raw meat is present until the position is completely cleaned. Cleaning with diluted domestic disinfectant will provide extra health protection.
- Who can install my Flexistone counter top?
- A fully trained Flexi fabricator. The licensed fabricator will ensure that your counter top is correctly installed and fully guaranteed.
- Can I buy Flexistone materials, fabricate and install them by myself in a DIY fashion?
- Yes, but not with seamless joins
- Where can I find a colour sample.
- We have a branch at 67 McCoy Street Myaree , and a branch at 21 Delage Street Joondalup
- The fabricator left me a small sheet of Flexistone as a chopping panel, but what I heard is cutting cannot be done directly on Flexistone. Can I use this chopping panel?
- If the chopping panel is made of a separate sheet of Flexistone, you may use it, but nicks will be inevitable. So you definitely cannot cut on your bench top.
- Do flexistone benchtops come in different finishes?
- Flexistone can be processed to be dull finishes, semi-gloss surfaces and high-gloss surfaces. The distributor will recommend the best lustre that meets your needs.
- Can Flexistone be used for floor?
- Although it has been used on a stairway surface, we would not recommend it for floor. Wearing and nicks can be reduced only on big-particle color Flexistone.
